How it works
Two rounds. The first is read blind, the second is live.
2. The panel reads it
A panel from across product, design and information security reads every entry, with your name hidden while they score. The strongest go through to the final.
3. The final replaces the interview
You present your work live and answer the panel's questions. There is no separate interview after it.
What to send
Any one of these is enough on its own. No required format, no length limit. Whatever you pick, it has to answer what is wrong today, what you would change, and who it helps. Everything reaches us as links, and every link has to open for anyone holding it.
Written
A page explaining the idea and who it is for.
Design
Figma, screens, or a clickable prototype. Our design system is public at brand.tabby.ai.
Code or video
Working code, a repository, or a short screen recording.
Three things someone noticed
None of these is a brief. They are here to show the size of thing we mean, and the moment where noticing turns into an idea. Yours will be about something else entirely, and that is the point.
Four people, one card
A trip gets paid for by whoever is holding the card. Everyone means to settle up. Weeks later somebody is still chasing the money. Someone stopped at that and asked what would have to change.
The eight months before
The app is very good at the last two minutes of buying a car, and has nothing to say about the eight months of getting ready to buy one. Someone noticed the gap and started there.
Ninety seconds
Someone timed how long they had the app open. Ninety seconds. Everything else about the purchase, deciding, comparing, waiting and returning, happened somewhere else.
Before you write it
None of this is required and we do not check for it. It is what the entries that go furthest usually have behind them.
Ask five people
You do not need a research team. Five conversations with people who actually use the app beat a survey you wrote to agree with you.
Count something
You do not have our numbers. Count what you can reach: taps to finish a task, reviews saying the same thing, people you know who have hit the problem.
Say why it is not already there
Someone at Tabby has probably thought of it. Guessing at what stopped them, and being wrong, reads better than never having asked the question.
It does not have to be finished
Unfinished work is fine. We are looking at how you got to the idea, not how finished it looks, so send what you have.
Three paid internships at Tabby
First, second and third place each get a six-month paid internship at Tabby at SAR 3,000 a month, full-time, subject to signing a separate contract and meeting the required eligibility checks.

Living in Saudi Arabia, 18 and over
Citizens and residents alike. You enter as an individual, there are no team entries.

Who can enter?

What am I supposed to send?
A product idea for Tabby, either something new or a change to what we already ship. Send it however you like: a written page, a Figma file, a clickable prototype, working code, or a short video. One of these is enough and there is no required format or length limit. Our design system is public at brand.tabby.ai. Everything reaches us as links, and every link has to open for anyone holding it.
Does it have to be finished?
No. Rough drafts are fine and work in progress counts. There is no required format either, so a clear written page is a complete entry if it carries the idea.
Which language should I write in?
Arabic or English, whichever you think in. Both are judged the same way and no translation is needed.
What is the award?
Three places. First, second and third each get a six-month paid internship at Tabby at SAR 3,000 a month, full-time, subject to signing a separate contract and meeting the required eligibility checks.
Who owns what I send?
You do. You keep ownership of your entry, including any code or design files. By entering you grant Tabby a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to review, reproduce and use your entry internally in order to run and judge the challenge. If we later want broader rights, that is a separate written agreement and it is not a condition of entering.
How are entries judged?
Your name is hidden while the panel reads and scores. The panel is internal to Tabby and mixes product, design and information security. Shortlisted entrants present live at the final on 15 October, 13:00 to 17:00 Riyadh time, and that session replaces the interview. The final has an audience, and taking part in that round means presenting in front of one. Naming you publicly as a winner needs your separate consent, and refusing it does not disqualify you.
